Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of the most coveted brands on the market. After taking the beauty world by storm with innovative brow products, which arguably started a trend, Anastasia preceded to release a series of amazing lipsticks and palettes. Among these palettes are their contour kits; perhaps most notably, their cream contour kits. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit is unique in the contouring palette world, which is dominated by powder products.

I love cream contouring products, and the Anastasia Beverly Hills palette didn’t disappoint. Even though $40 is expensive, the palette contains six shades, and the product is plentiful so you get your money’s worth. The downside of having lots of shades is that it might be more than you need for a day-to-day look. The upside is that if you want to really customize your contour, you definitely can.

I have the lightest palette, in the shade Fair. I swatched the six different shades in the palette below.

Left to Right: Fawn, Shadow, Mink, Soft Light, Lustre, Fair

I frequently contour with Fawn and Shadow, and use all of the highlight shades. Soft Light and Fair can be used as a concealer, or to highlight the brow bone. I love the shade Lustre, which is a shimmery highlight that can be used alone for a soft glow or applied under a powder for an on-trend blinding highlight.

The formula of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour is thick, but buildable. I like to apply Fawn to my face with a small brush, then blend it out with a buffing brush. It creates a beautiful and natural finish. If I use the shade Mink, I can create a dramatic, chiseled look. As an added bonus, the packaging is both sturdy and esthetically pleasing.

  • I have the Barry M Cream contour stick and the LA Girl Pro Concealer in Beautiful Bronze, I don’t have any high end cream contouring products at the moment as there seems to be so many cheaper alternatives. Do you think the ABH palette is better than others on the market? Overall, my Sleek contour kit will forever be my holy grail. It’s phenomenal, great review! Xx

  • I like that you can chisel with this! I might need to try it, I’m not huge on cream contour but I do want to test it out! 😀

It’s fab, but if you don’t love cream contour you could also start with the Becca Lowlight Perfector, it’s amazing!

      Glad I could help!

  • I really love this contour kit, it can be a little heavy for everyday wear but for a more dramatic look I love it!

  • I still haven’t find the courage to work with cream contouring, blushes and highlighters. Maybe I should finally give it a try.
PS: Great blog, I’ve just followed you on BL.

    • Thank you darling! I so appreciate your support. Cream products can be very easy to use, just make sure you don’t apply anything powdered first. I often find cream easier than powder!

I really really want this one, I love the Sleek one which is a good doupe, but it upsets me you cannot get refills for this, cause I just know ill use more than others 🙁

    • That’s really true, it’s nice when kits are refill-able. I haven’t tried anything from Sleek because it’s harder to get in the states, but I really ought to!

  • I don’t contour much to be honest but when I do I like using my MJ contour/highlight powder or the Dior cream stick. I’ve heard some great things about this palette though.

    • I like all contouring products, but I definitely do love cream products in particular.

  • I own and use this kit as well, but mainly for filming. On a daily basis I rarely contour, too much hassle.

    • I totally understand! I don’t contour every day, but I admit that I do frequently!
