My go-to foundation for the last 8ish months has been Diorskin Forever. This $50 foundation is a pretty penny (I got mine during a Sephora sale) but it’s one of the most beautiful foundation formulas I have ever tried.
First of all, my shade, Fair Almond, matches my skin tone flawlessly. This matte foundation is SPF 35 but photographs beautifully. Supposedly, it has pore-perfecting and blurring properties, and it’s supposed to improve the look of your skin over time. While I didn’t notice any major effects on the skincare side of thing, I did find that it made my pores look nonexistent (though I don’t have huge pores to begin with). I liked that it was medium-to-full coverage, because I could build it up for a special event or wear it lightly on a casual day. You don’t have to set Diorskin Forever with a powder, because it has a matte/powder finish, but you can for some extra staying powder.
This foundation does have a slight floral scent, and it feels a little dry on the skin– that’s okay for me, because I tend to the oily side, but my mom tried it and thought it felt caked. I’ve seen it described as both lightweight and heavy in different magazine articles, so I think that is just a matter of taste. If you do have dry skin, I think you would want to pair the Diorskin Forever Foundation with a hydrating primer.
Diorskin Forever is one of my favorite foundations– it does make your skin look flawless, but not cakey. However, I didn’t rush out to repurchase it because a) it’s super expensive and b) it sometimes makes my skin look older, because it seeps into a fine line on my forehead. It doesn’t crease terribly in my smile lines, and most foundations do, but I have some foundations that crease even less. If you don’t have many lines, though, this foundation may be just right for you.
I think if you’re curious about the Diorskin Forever Foundation, it’s at least worth getting a sample from Sephora. It’s expensive, but it has a beautiful, long-wearing finish, and it’s definitely one of the best foundations I have tried. Even though I’m hoping to find a more affordable option, I did think the Diorskin Forever foundation is worth the price.
