An avowed concealer junkie (and L’Oreal fan) I had to try the Pro Glow concealer. I liked the Pro Glow foundation when I first tried it, but over time I realized that it was breaking me out a little bit. I sometimes have this problem with L’Oreal foundations; they give me little bumps on my skin. But I digress. Here’s my review of the L’Oreal Pro Glow Concealer.
Overall, I like this concealer. I know in Jaclyn Hill’s recent video (and if you’re enough of a makeup junkie to read this, I’m guessing you saw it) she said that the Pro Glow Concealer stung the skin under her eyes. This concealer does not sting under my eyes at all, which is sort of unusual (a lot of drugstore concealers sting under my eyes at some point or another). So that’s good. I do find this concealer comfortable, and its dewy, perhaps even hydrating. It’s wet enough that I would say it needs to be set with powder, at least on me. I actually usually mis it with a thicker concealer because of the color.
Because I’m very fair, I bought the lightest shade in both the foundation and the concealer. But weirdly enough, the lightest shade in the concealer is darker than the lightest shade in the foundation. This actually sort of bugs me, because you never want your concealer to be darker than your foundation… that’s just not a good look. Your foundation and concealer can be the same color, or your concealer can be lighter. But a darker concealer… it just doesn’t make sense. Of course, you can make it work by mixing concealers or using a lighter setting powder, or if you’re lucky the shade range works for you.
I think this is a good product, but because of the shade range I probably won’t repurchase. I enjoy trying drugstore foundations and concealers, but because my skin has been off lately I’m trying to use better quality makeup.
