Pixi Glow Tonic (Review)

Pixi Glow Tonic (Review)

Toners noticeably improve my skin– that is, if I’m using the right toner. I’ve used different toners on-and-of over the years. Using some sort of toning treatment helps to keep my acne at bay, but if it’s a strong acne treatment it can irritate my skin (and end up making the situation worse). I’ve been trying to find a reliable toner for years, and I think I achieved just that with the Pixi Glow Tonic.

To be fair, it’s not like I’ve “discovered” this product. It has plenty of internet-hype. Pixi is a makeup and skincare brand available online and at Target. For a drugstore line, it is both a little expensive and higher quality. It’s still a little less expensive than something you would buy at Sephora or in a department store, but it’s the higher end of the drugstore.

The 3.4 ounce size of the Glow Tonic retails for $15, which is a great price considering that this product is wonderful. It smells lovely, sort of natural and fresh– it’s almost floral, but it doesn’t smell like a perfume. The scent is more like waking outside through a garden.

The toner itself wipes away any leftover grime on my face, but without making my skin feel dry or tight. In fact, it somehow leaves my skin feeling both refreshed/clean and hydrated. The glycolic acid exfoliates and the aloe vera soothes. It’s so gentle, and yet so effective.

I admit, I actually alternate this toner with Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, which is less expensive and even gentler. Still, I love the Pixi Glow Tonic. I am going to try The Ordinary’s Glycolic Toner, which is supposed to be a similar product, and then decide if I prefer Pixi’s Glow Tonic or The Ordinary’s toner.

Have you tried the Pixi Glow Tonic? I love it for my acne-prone skin, but I actually think it would soothe and exfoliate many different skin types. Plus, it’s actually a pleasure to use the toner.
