Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray vs. Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray vs. Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray

Makeup setting sprays are a holy grail product, in terms of making your makeup last all day (or all night). Nothing keeps my makeup on like a setting spray, and I’ve even gotten my mother and sister addicted. There are many different types of sprays on the market: some of them, say Mac Fix+ (which is a great product) are intended to freshen your makeup and reduce the look of powder. Others, like the Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray and the Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray, are meant to prolong the wear time of your makeup.

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray: As far as I can tell, this was the original long-wear makeup setting spray. Or at least Skindinavia was behind the original formula, as Urban Decay’s famous All-Nighter spray was made in collaboration with Skindinavia. The Skindinavia spray bottle distributes a fine mist onto the face. You really only need a few sprays to lock your makeup into place (though I have a tendency to apply much more). The Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray definitely makes a difference in the wear time of your makeup, especially when paired with the Makeup Primer Spray. Skindinavia often runs 20% promotions on their site, so you can pick it up at a discounted rate. This spray does not add any hydration to your look, but it does lock your makeup into place.

Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray: I haven’t been using this makeup setting spray as long as the Skindinavia formula, but from what I can tell they are very similar. There might be some small differences in formula and scent, but overall the effect is almost the same. Not hydrating, but perfect for making your makeup last. The Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray (made in partnership with Skindinavia) is a little more expensive than the Skindinavia spray, but it can be purchased more easily at Sephora and Ulta.

Overall, I think these two products are very similar. What are your favorite makeup setting sprays? I want to try the Milani Make It Last setting spray, and I’m interested in some of the “dewy finish” sprays.
