I do my eyebrows almost every day, even when I’m wearing minimal makeup. I have moderately full brows, but I like to define them with a pencil or pomade, and I love the look of feathery full brows that you can get with a gel. […]

This highlighter is a mini-miracle. Admittedly, at nearly $40 the price tag is hefty. $40 can buy you a lot in the highlighter world (basically a lifetime supply of e.l.f. baked highlights, or an Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit). And while I wouldn’t say I […]
Benefit Cosmetics is a bit of an unsung hero when it comes to the online makeup world. The brand has a large variety of products, but it seems like only a few are really hyped. There’s the iconic Hoola bronzer (which is iconic for a reason) and the classic Benetint. However, there are other products in the line that nobody seems to talk about, but that’s not to say they aren’t great.
The greatest unsung hero of all, in my opinion, is the Benefit Cosmetics Dallas Blush. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard anybody talk about it online, ever. But I have talked about it with a fellow makeup-lover, who concurred: Dallas is beyond beautiful.
I admit, I was totally sucked in by the Cowgirl on the packaging. As a Nevada native, I’m a sucker for anything Rodeo-esque. I bought this blush a while back, when I was first getting really into makeup. I fell in love with it immediately, and I’ve been using it all the time as of late. I love the dusty rose hue. It’s actually marketed as a blush/bronzer, which is very accurate. It gives my skin a natural rosy glow, like a real tan or flush. It’s ever so slightly shimmery, but only enough to make me look luminous (not glittery or highlighted).
This blush has a lovely scent. I don’t normally like perfumed products, but the smell of this one is quite nice. The blush formula itself seems to blend right into whatever makeup is underneath it, and I think the color would flatter many different skin tones. You can use it to warm up the complexion all over the face, or just on the cheeks. You can even wear it as eyeshadow (I wear blush/bronzer as eyeshadow all the time, especially when I’m in a rush). Benefit’s Dallas blush is great for any type of look: something soft and natural, something warm and bronzer, something bold and glam…. I just love it!

Colourpop was initially known for a few things: affordable prices, a huge color selection, and a signature pillowy-soft pigment formula. While Colourpop still manufactures these cushy pigments, they have also transitioned into making traditional pressed powders. And man, are these powders good. I love Colourpop […]
Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands (in case you haven’t noticed). I picked up the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation over a year ago, and I’ve been using it consistently ever since. At first, I was just so-so on this foundation. I’m not much of a powder foundation person; even though I like the mattifying finish, and that there’s just less makeup in general, I prefer the even-ness in my skin that it seems only a liquid or cream formula can provide. However, I really fell in love with this foundation when I started to use it as a setting powder.
When I’m wearing a luxury foundation, I find it hard to reach for a drugstore powder, even though I tend to use basic setting powders most of the time. I’ve been pairing the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation with the likes of Dior’s Diorskin Forever Foundation. I like that the Tarte powder is somehow both hydrating and mattifying, which makes sense because it is supposedly formulated with skincare benefits. I’m getting more and more into skincare with each passing day (I won’t be 22 forever, you know) and I love when makeup actually benefits your skin.
The Tarte Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation claims to be medium-to-full coverage. I don’t think this is true, because there’s no way I could build this powder up to a full-coverage finish without looking like I was totally covered with cake. That being said, as a setting powder it is totally creamy and not cakey. It just melts into my foundation, adding a little extra coverage and plenty of staying powder. I recently hit pan on this powder, and while I’m usually feel accomplished when I finish a product, I know I’m going to be sad when I’m done with this one!
The Tarte Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation could easily be my holy grail setting powder to date. Of course, there are more affordable formulas that I like, but this one is just oh-so-creamy. Plus, it’s gentle on my skin, because Tarte’s products are formulated with top-notch natural ingredients. I know I really sound like I’m selling this one, but I can’t help it! I love it.

I don’t usually go for berry lips, but the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Lip Color in Lover has blown me away. I love this lipstick! It is unbelievably long-wearing (like 12 hours, with eating) and super comfortable. The color itself is a berry toned neutral, and I love wearing it. I want all the colors in this range!
No7 Lift and Luminate Foundation has become my summer makeup obsession. No7 (sometimes called Boots) is a UK-based drugstore beauty brand that has recently become available in the USA. If you keep your eyes peeled, sometimes you can find a Target, Ulta, or Walgreens with […]
