Makeup Forever Pro Light Fusion Highlighter (Review)

Makeup Forever Pro Light Fusion Highlighter (Review)

This highlighter is a mini-miracle. Admittedly, at nearly $40 the price tag is hefty. $40 can buy you a lot in the highlighter world (basically a lifetime supply of e.l.f. baked highlights, or an Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit). And while I wouldn’t say I […]

Benefit Cosmetics Dallas Blush (Review)

Benefit Cosmetics Dallas Blush (Review)

Benefit Cosmetics is a bit of an unsung hero when it comes to the online makeup world. The brand has a large variety of products, but it seems like only a few are really hyped. There’s the iconic Hoola bronzer (which is iconic for a […]

Centennial Ball 2017- Black Tie Makeup

Centennial Ball 2017- Black Tie Makeup

I work in an art museum, and we recently had a huge anniversary event. Because the event was black tie, I broke out a floor length gown, curled my hair, and (of course) went full glam.

I was so wrapped up in the excitement of the even that I can’t remember the details of what all I wore. However, I know that my eyeshadow was mostly the Jeffree Star Androgyny palette, with a cocktail of black liners and the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Liquid Liner in Night Sky Sparkle.

I also wore my favorite foundation for events, the MAC Studio Fix Fluid, which doesn’t seep into my smile lines (which is a rare feat for a full coverage foundation) and it wore all night long! Of course, I primed and set, but still, I danced and sweat a lot, and my foundation still looked great when I got home!

I’m also wearing MAC Crème de la Femme lipstick and Brave lipliner, which has been one of my staples for years. I paired the Anastasia Beverly Hills concealer with the L’Oreal Pro Glow concealer for a hydrated but super full coverage look.

Alexis Ren x Colourpop Topaz Pressed Powder Face Duo (Review)

Alexis Ren x Colourpop Topaz Pressed Powder Face Duo (Review)

Colourpop was initially known for a few things: affordable prices, a huge color selection, and a signature pillowy-soft pigment formula. While Colourpop still manufactures these cushy pigments, they have also transitioned into making traditional pressed powders. And man, are these powders good. I love Colourpop […]

Tarte Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation (Review)

Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands (in case you haven’t noticed). I picked up the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation over a year ago, and I’ve been using it consistently ever since. At first, I was just so-so on this foundation. […]

Wearable Berry Lipstick

Wearable Berry Lipstick

I don’t usually go for berry lips, but the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Lip Color in Lover has blown me away. I love this lipstick! It is unbelievably long-wearing (like 12 hours, with eating) and super comfortable. The color itself is a berry toned […]

No7 Lift and Luminate Foundation (Review)

No7 Lift and Luminate Foundation (Review)

No7 Lift and Luminate Foundation has become my summer makeup obsession. No7 (sometimes called Boots) is a UK-based drugstore beauty brand that has recently become available in the USA. If you keep your eyes peeled, sometimes you can find a Target, Ulta, or Walgreens with a No7 section. It’s a little high-end for the drugstore, but significantly more affordable than prestige or luxury brands. At $16, this foundation doesn’t break the bank, even though it delivers the most beautiful finish. I don’t know if it creates “firmer, even skin,” partially because I don’t struggle with wrinkles or an uneven complexion. What I can say is that it is a luminous medium-coverage foundation that makes my skin look naturally supple and dewy. It gives my skin a healthy glow, without seeping into my fine lines. I like applying it with my fingers or a sponge.

No7 Lift and Luminate Foundation (Review)

The No7 Lift & Luminate Foundation is one of my all time favorites, because it feels so good on my skin, and it looks even better! I usually set this foundation with a powder, to ensure that it lasts longer on my skin. I would clock in about 7 solid hours of wear if you are sure to prime, set, and finish the foundation. It looks beautiful on its own, but I find that it wears off after a few hours if I don’t set it. Luckily, if it wears off, it just sort of disappears; that is to say, it never really cakes up or breaks up, so it doesn’t look bad. Ever.

Swatched: No7 Lift & Luminate Foundation in the shade “Cool Vanilla"
No7 Lift and Luminate Foundation in the shade “Cool Vanilla”

I adore this foundation, and I would be willing to pay more than $16 for it! However, since it’s so cheap, I can be sure I will repurchase it. The only con is that it isn’t quite as long-wearing as I would like, but in every other aspect, the No7 Lift & Luminate Foundation is perfect for creating a luminous complexion.
