The stars of this look are Kiko 706 lip liner paired with MAC Habanero Liptensity Lipstick and the NYX Vinyl Liquid eyeliner.

The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks have been in the liquid lipstick game since the very beginning. Almost every brand has a liquid lipstick formula now, but a few years ago Still was one of the only liquid lipsticks I can remember seeing on […]
The Tarte Pro Glow to Go Palette was a gift from my sister, and it’s been rocking my world. This little palette is perfect for me, because it is travel sized (but has a really nice mirror) and has perfect shades for fair skin tones. It would probably be pretty on medium skin tones, too, though I am sure that the contour shade is too light for deep skin tones.
I opted for the Pro Glow to Go instead of the Pro Glow Palette (which I’m sure is fabulous) because the Pro Glow has several highlighter shades that are too dark for my skin. If your skin tone is darker than mine (and it probably is, because I’m very fair) it would be great for you. Tarte makes high quality products, and I have heard great things about the Pro Glow Palette. I’m sure it is excellent!
There are three shades in the Pro Glow to Go Palette. My favorite shade is “Chisel,” the contour shade. Oh my goodness, this contour shade is amazing. It might be the best contour shade I have ever tried. It is pigmented and creamy; often contouring products are powdery, but this one is so smooth. And the color is perfect; it’s slightly warm, but it still looks very natural on my skin. I want this in a giant pan!
The two highlighters have very different textures, but they’re both good products. Gleam is my favorite, because it is more buttery and cool-toned. Burst is a champagne shade and a little powdery, but it applies smoothly on the skin. Burst is also especially fine-milled. I often mix the two shades on my cheeks.
This palette is such a great product; the two highlighters are lovely, and I think they would be flattering on many skin tones. And the contour shade is positively divine– seriously, the best I’ve ever used. I adore Tarte, and I highly recommend this palette. It isn’t too expensive, because it is travel size, but that makes it perfect for everyday use or traveling. The packing is also very high quality (the mirror is actually quite large). I just have so much love for this palette!

I’m just a girl on the hunt for her perfect foundation, and for the past few months my go-to has been the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. NARS is one of my favorite luxury brands, and their products both high quality and sleek. I […]
Many drugstore brands manufacture concealers, but Maybelline seems to dominate the drugstore concealer playing field. The Fit Me and Age Rewind concealers are popular among internet beauty obsessives, and I have to say, I’m on the Maybelline concealer bandwagon. I’ve sampled three of their formulas: Fit […]
It’s safe to say that I’m constantly falling in and out of love (but mostly in love) with makeup products. At present, there are a few things that I’m dating consistently; they make me swoon on the daily, but I know they won’t fail me. Check out my current makeup obsessions below:
L’Oreal Infallible Foundations: The Pro-Glow and Pro-Matte are my favorite foundations at present; I use Pro-Glow for a radiant finish and Pro-Matte for a matte finish, but I mix them to achieve an in-between look, too. They’re so inexpensive, and so amazing. I love them both! You can see my full review of these foundations here.
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer: Everybody seems to be obsessed with these concealers, and with good reason. They’re matte but not drying and full coverage. A little goes a long way, so I can usually achieve full coverage without too much product. Also, the Tarte Shape Tape doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes (a major bonus). See my full review of this product here.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frosts and Beauty Killer Palette: I’ve been using the Skin Frosts for a few months now. (See a detailed review here). I’m a total highlighter junkie, and I have to say these are so soft and crazy pigmented I love using them for that crazy-bold glow. The Beauty Killer Palette has gorgeous shades, huge pans, and a lot of colors. It’s surprisingly versatile. I also got the Androgyny palette, and I’m loving it.
e.l.f. Finishing Powder: I’ve only used this a few times, but it’s already on its way to the top of my list. Inexpensive, flawless finish, not cake-y, and creamy are the words that come to mind when I think of this powder. It’s great for setting all of my face and my concealer, and it’s very lightweight and comfortable.
Milani Bronzer in “Dolce”: It’s bronzer season, which is basically my favorite time of the year. I recently picked up this bronzer and I am impressed. Affordable, beautiful texture (comparable to the baked blushes, so a little powdery but just the right amount of pigment and never patchy). This bronzer gives a beautiful warm glow, without being too orange. It just looks so pretty!

March was a great month (Spring Break, warm weather, Easter, what’s not to like?) Over the past month, there are a few products that have stood out as exceptional and unique.
First of all, I’ve been loving the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer. This concealer gets a lot of good press, and for good reason! It is creamy and pigmented. Because it has a lightweight texture, it doesn’t crease much, and I find that it both brightens my under eye circles and conceals them better than any concealer I have ever tried. I use the lightest shade, “Fair.”
I’ve been reaching for my Tarte Blushing Bride Cheek Stain almost every day. I love adding it on top of a bronzer, dabbing a little on the cheek right from the bottle, or applying a heavier layer of the stain from the apple of my cheek towards my temples and blending with a damp sponge. It’s a bright pink that blends into a soft, natural pink on my cheeks. The applicator tube makes it very easy to apply, which is part of why I use it so often. It doesn’t last as long as I would like, but it’s easy to bring along with you.
The Naked Flushed Palette by Urban Decay was perfect for my spring break trip to Arizona. You can mix all three colors together for a nice natural blush, or use the bronzer, blush, and highlighter separately. I love the highlighter, which is a natural looking, pearly color, and I’ve been swirling my blush brush over the whole palette before applying the mix to my cheeks. The pink color is a little too bright in my palette if it isn’t blended, but I got this on sale for $15 so no complaints. I have the color “Native.”
The Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dolly is my favorite lip gloss — probably even my favorite lip gloss ever. It has a tingly, minty feel to the plumper, but it doesn’t burn my lips. The formula is thick without being to sticky, and glossy without being to glittery. The mauve hue of Dolly adds a pop of color and shine to my natural lip, and I think it would be flattering on all skin tones. It is my second Buxom Lip Polish, and I have loved both of them. I wear it all the time, and if you love or want a natural but finished lip, look for Buxom next time you are at Sephora or Ulta.
My key to summer skin is the Mary Lou-Manizer by the Balm, a bold champagne highlight with a silky texture. I like this highlighter because it does not have any chunky glitter, and it applies evenly and smoothly to the skin. The formula is gentle and comfortable, but highly pigmented. This highlighter is affordable and high quality. As a bonus, it is actually a highlighter and an eyeshadow, so swipe it on your eyes and cheekbones to tie things together and look luminous for the summer.
The Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipstick in Melted Sugar is the perfect pinky-nude shade. I like that it doesn’t dry out my lips or fill in all the little cracks on my lips. It is a beautiful color for spring and summer, and the applicator is easy to use. This might just be my favorite lipstick right now.
I like to try to set my concealer to make it long lasting, but my concealer doesn’t usually crease. however, I always found that adding a setting powder on top of my undereye concealer always made it crease more. I finally found the perfect under eye setting powder, the e.l.f. HD Undereye Setting Powder. This product is very affordable, and it helps make my undereye concealer bright and keep it in place on my face all day!
I’ve been reading The Last Days of California by Mary Miller, and I’ve been loving it so much that I don’t want it to end! This book tells the story of a family’s exodus, in the form of a road trip, across the country to California. Jess is a young teenager who is on the road with her evangelical parents. Jess’s father is convinced the rapture is about occur, and wants his daughters to see California before the world ends. The Last Days of California is reminiscent of YA fiction hits like John Green’s novels, but it is more sophisticated in its portrayal of family life and in its language. Miller’s novel is both touching and humourous, and I love reading about the relationship between Jess and her sister, Elise. Stay tuned, a review will be posted soon!
