Makeup Forever Pro Light Fusion Highlighter (Review)

Makeup Forever Pro Light Fusion Highlighter (Review)

This highlighter is a mini-miracle. Admittedly, at nearly $40 the price tag is hefty. $40 can buy you a lot in the highlighter world (basically a lifetime supply of e.l.f. baked highlights, or an Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit). And while I wouldn’t say I […]

Alexis Ren x Colourpop Topaz Pressed Powder Face Duo (Review)

Colourpop was initially known for a few things: affordable prices, a huge color selection, and a signature pillowy-soft pigment formula. While Colourpop still manufactures these cushy pigments, they have also transitioned into making traditional pressed powders. And man, are these powders good. I love Colourpop […]

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frost Highlighters: Ice Cold and Princess Cut (Review & Swatches)

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frost Highlighters: Ice Cold and Princess Cut (Review & Swatches)

The Jeffree Star Cosmetics Skin Frost Highlighters are incredible. There’s no way about it: they are the best highlighters for that super metallic glow, at least of the highlighters I have tried (and let me tell you, I’ve tried a lot). These highlighters are so richly pigmented, the pans are enormous, and the colors are diverse. I bought the two lightest shades, Ice Cold (an ultra-white highlighter) and Princess Cut (an icy pink) but I’ve got my eye on Peach Goddess.

The Jeffree Star Skin Frost highlighters are a soft powder formula. If you want a natural looking glow, you might be able to achieve it with this product if you use just a tiny bit. But in all honesty, these highlighters are really intended for more ambitious glow-seekers. Apply a little of the highlighter and you are glowing, but if you apply a lot you will basically be visible from an airplane. I’m a highlighter fiend, so I love the intense glow.

Ice Cold is very light; it is one of the most intense white highlighters I’ve ever come across. It’s bold and beautiful, but I’m not sure I would recommend it for deeper skin tones. On my fair skin, it gives me the frosted look I like.

Princess Cut is a little more subdued, but if you layer it on it still packs a punch. I love that this highlight can look soft or bold, depending on how much you wear. I also love the color; it’s the perfect soft pink.

The Jeffree Star Skin Frost highlighters can also be used as eyeshadows. Sometimes I mix both Ice Cold and Skin Frost on my face. Overall, these highlighters are high quality, a great value (you get so much product), and just flat out fun to wear. What are your favorite highlighters?

Makeup Geek Highlighter Review & Swatches

Highlighters are my favorite part of any makeup look, and I actually feel a little bit naked if I forget to wear a highlighter. I don’t know how I ever lived without highlight! I think that the super-glowy cheekbones will be something my children see […]
