Fall is cozy and wonderful, a time of muted neutrals and warm coffee. I love the scents and colors of fall, from the outdoors to the indoors. And, of course, I love the scents and colors of fall makeup. Here are my fall beauty favorites: […]

Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands (in case you haven’t noticed). I picked up the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Confidence Creamy Powder Foundation over a year ago, and I’ve been using it consistently ever since. At first, I was just so-so on this foundation. […]
The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks have been in the liquid lipstick game since the very beginning. Almost every brand has a liquid lipstick formula now, but a few years ago Still was one of the only liquid lipsticks I can remember seeing on the shelves. It took me a long time to get on the liquid lipstick bandwagon, though, so I didn’t try the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks until this year.
The Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks helped me fall in love with matte, transfer-proof liquid lipsticks. Other ultra-matte formulas crumbled on my lips, or made my mouth feel dry. The Stila lipsticks are very matte, and very long-lasting. Of course, they do feel a little dry (most transfer-proof liquid lipsticks too). However, they’re lightweight, and they never crumble on my lips. These lipsticks are very pigmented, so you only need one swipe. The formula itself feels lightweight and liquid but dries down in seconds. With some liquid lipstick formulas, touch-ups make the lipstick crumble, but these Stila lipsticks can be re-applied throughout the day with no problems. Part of what appeals to me about the Stila liquid lipsticks is that the formula contains vitamin E and avocado oil, which I think helps to counteract the drying effects of such a matte finish.
I have the colors Caramello (which is a beautiful nude, that I think would work on multiple skin tones because it has neutral undertones) and Patina (Stila’s iconic mauve shade). They’re both beautiful and unique colors, unlike any others in my collection. I usually wear Patina alone, but I occasionally wear a gloss with Caramello. The shade range includes swoon-worthy nudes and fiery reds. If I had an unlimited budget, I would buy them all for sure!
The Stila liquid lipsticks aren’t cheap, but there’s a reason that the formula is so iconic. It’s easy to wear, the colors are beautiful, and the packaging is luxurious. I think I bought my Stila lipsticks at Sephora, but you can also purchase them at Ulta. Stila also recently became cruelty free, which makes the brand more appealing to a wide variety of consumers.

The Tarte Pro Glow to Go Palette was a gift from my sister, and it’s been rocking my world. This little palette is perfect for me, because it is travel sized (but has a really nice mirror) and has perfect shades for fair skin tones. It […]
I’m just a girl on the hunt for her perfect foundation, and for the past few months my go-to has been the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. NARS is one of my favorite luxury brands, and their products both high quality and sleek. I have enjoyed using this product regularly, so here is my NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation Review.
The NARS All Day Luminous foundation has a very thin consistency: it isn’t exactly a serum foundation, but it is thin like a serum. One or two pumps is enough for sheer coverage, but I can usually get a medium coverage with 4-5 pumps. I like how lightweight this foundation is: it feels like nothing, and it’s definitely a “your skin but better” product, so I’m sure that I will like it even more in the summer. The only problem is that it can get cakey with my BareMinerals pressed powder (for some reason, that foundation/powder combo doesn’t work) and it does seep into my fine lines and crease if I apply too much.
In my opinion, the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is a less-is-more product. I like it best when I apply 2-3 pumps and no powder on top, on more natural makeup days. I also use it to mix with other foundations: for some reason the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation makes full coverage foundation more natural looking on the skin.
My favorite aspects of this NARS foundation are its lightweight feel, its beautiful packaging, and the fact that one bottle lasts forever. Because it is difficult to build the coverage without creasing, it isn’t my holy grail foundation. I also had some trouble finding a perfect shade match. I have the shade “Goji” but it is a little bit too light on me. Nonetheless, this foundation is a beautiful luxury item that I will definitely continue to use (even if I don’t repurchase).

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation was a major release for the brand that grew out of a monopoly on the perfect eyebrow. While bigger brands, such as Bobbi Brown, Tarte, or M.A.C. offer multiple foundation options, ABH just has one stick foundation. Stick foundations have been […]
Anastasia Beverly Hills is one of the most coveted brands on the market. After taking the beauty world by storm with innovative brow products, which arguably started a trend, Anastasia preceded to release a series of amazing lipsticks and palettes. Among these palettes are their […]
Tarte is one of my favorite brands on the market, if not my absolute favorite. Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer took the makeup world by storm in 2016, but I have always loved their products– it’s a brand that never lets me down!
It seemed like it took a while for Tarte to release a highlighting powder, and Tarte’s original Skin Twinkle palette caught my eye, but I decided to purchase Volume II because of its wider color variety. The palette contains four shades: Daylight, Skylight, Spotlight, and Candlelight. As a bonus, it smells faintly of chocolate, a little like the Too Faced chocolate palettes!
Daylight: a beautiful champagne gold
Skylight: A wearable white, which is a pale highlight without being too icy
Spotlight: bronze gold
Candlelight: shimmering bronze
They’re all gorgeous, and if I layer them I can wear them all. Of course, the two lightest shades (Daylight and Skylight) are my favorites, and I like wearing both of them together or separately. I rarely reach for Candlelight, but I think it would be great for deeper skin tones. I love the variety in this palette, and that Tarte caters to all skin tones.
The formula is smooth and buildable. I like that it can be a subtle or blinding glow. I really want to try more Tarte highlighters! The only con is that sometimes there is slight inconsistency in the texture: I find that sometimes there is a chunk or two that wasn’t so finely milled, but I only notice this when I’m swatching the palette with my fingers (never when applying it to my face).

I’ve mentioned before that I love cream contouring, but I think that I have found my favorite cream contouring product (or contouring product period) to date. I don’t hear a lot about the Becca Lowlight Sculpting Perfector in the internet beauty world, which is a […]
