This highlighter is a mini-miracle. Admittedly, at nearly $40 the price tag is hefty. $40 can buy you a lot in the highlighter world (basically a lifetime supply of e.l.f. baked highlights, or an Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit). And while I wouldn’t say I […]

Concealer is my most-loved makeup staple. I’ve tried so many over the years, and I’ve finally landed on a few favorites. Summer often brings light makeup days, so it is the perfect season for an easy wash of concealer and flip flops. However, I still go full-out glam, and I like knowing that my concealer will stay put all day.
The Glossier Stretch concealer is a wonder: it is a little tub of moisture. The dewy, almost oily (but in a good way) formula glides on easily with a finger. You can set it with powder, should you choose to wear a full face of makeup. However, I like using it alone on days when I’m wearing hardly any makeup at all. It conceals my dark circles but blends seamlessly into my complexion. It’s like a second skin.
The Tarte Shape Tape is the best concealer of the decade (which is about as long as I’ve been wearing concealer). I adore this formula; it is full coverage, blendable, and nearly crease-free. I wish it was just a little more hydrating, but it isn’t drying at all. A little goes a long way (but you can cake it on, too, if you want). I love this formula, and it comes in an incredibly wide shade range. I can’t envision a better concealer! It is life-proof.
I have also been loving the Wet n Wild Photo Focus concealer. While this concealer isn’t as unique as the other two, it certainly is a budget-friendly option. It has replaced the Maybelline Age Rewind (at least temporarily) as my favorite drugstore concealer. It is somehow creamy, natural, and full coverage all at once.

The Wet n Wild highlighters are probably the most sought-after drugstore highlighters. These highlighters, particularly the Precious Petals highlight, put Wet n Wild back on the map for me. A brand that formally represented the super-cheap makeup of my childhood suddenly became one of the the […]
Fall has arrived! I’m a fall lover myself (hold the Pumpkin Spice Latte though, I’m not that basic). For me, this wonderful change in seasons has always primarily meant only two things: 1) back to school and 2) the opportunity to change up my look. I can remember insisting that I wear my new black jeans and Halloween T-Shirt from The Children’s Place to the “Fall Festival” (an annual church event) even though it was still waaaay to hot for jeans in Nevada. These days, fall is an opportunity to change up my day-to-day makeup. Namely, it’s a chance to break out all of my favorite fall lip colors.
MAC Studded Kiss: This is a gorgeous deep red, with blue undertones but a true red finish. It’s the kind of dark red lipstick that will always be in.
Colourpop Creature Lippie Stick and Pencil: This dynamite combo is a red with deep violet undertones. It’s dark and stormy while being red and sultry. This lipstick is matte, but without being too dry.
NYX Espresso Lip Pencil: I love this lip pencil because of it’s just-right formula. It is creamy but matte and longwearing. I use it with deep reds to line and define, or all over my lips for a matte brown color that lasts for days.
Colourpop Cosmetics: This chocolatey brown pairs beautifully with the “Pitch” pencil from Colourpop, or with the NYX espresso lip pencil. I like lining my lips anytime I wear lipstick, but it isn’t strictly necessary with a liquid lipstick. This lipstick goes on liquid and dries to a super matte finish. The transfer is minimal, and while it is fairly drying doesn’t flake or crumble much.
Colourpop Lumière: KathleenLights from Youtube collaborated with Colourpop for this collection, and I love all three shades: there’s the original Lumière, plus a pencil and Lumière 2 (a liquid matte lipstick version). It is the perfect natural-but-fashionable shade.
Colourpop Grunge: This lippie and pencil combo is dynamite. It is a light brown, with reddish-purple undertones. I love the 1990s grunge-chic look, and this lipstick is the perfect example of that esthetic.
MAC Honeylove + Etcetera Pencil: This matte nude has peach and brown undertones. I like a pinky-nude for summer, but for fall this earthy nude is perfect. I pair it with “etcetera” which is a pro-longwear lip liner in a soft warm brown.
MAC Cyber +Nightmoth Pencil: When I wear this combo, I get compliments left and right. Everybody want to know what I’ve got on my lips. I feel confident that this bold dark purple will look beautiful on most any skin tone, and it is an easy way to make a big statement.
