I’ve finally fallen in love with liquid lipstick. For a long time, I couldn’t get on the bandwagon for this trend because I found liquid lipstick so drying. These days, I can’t get enough of these long-wearing lipsticks. They apply so nicely, and I love […]

When did facial sprays start hitting the shelves? Cleansers, toners, eye creams, masks, and moisturizers have been around for as long as I can remember, but as far as I am concerned facial spray is brand new. Brand new and very enticing.
Here’s the truth about facial spray : it is 100% non-essential. And that is coming from me, who considers face cleanser and moisturizer to be essentials (something with which most of the male population would likely disagree). Don’t get me wrong, facial spray is quite the luxury. But if you are going to go out and buy it, keep in mind that it is a luxury.
The Definitive Facial Spray Ranking:
- Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe Herbs and Rose Water: The first facial spray I ever purchased was the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe Herbs and Rose Water. I loved this facial spray, because it was refreshing and lightly moisturizing, perfect for a summer day spritz. I liked that it was appropriate to use at all times: before makeup, after makeup, after washing my face, whenever. And at $7, I didn’t feel like I was being totally ripped off. A few squirts give your face a lot of moisture, all while engulfing your senses in a light and refreshing scent.
- Caudalie Beauty Elixir: The best part about this facial spray is easily its unique, slightly minty scent, which leaves an equally minty tingle on the skin. It is a luxurious spray, somewhat reasonably priced in France, but quite expensive in my home country of the United States. I bought it while abroad, but I would never pay the American price tag for this product. The spray bottle diffuses the product, so it doesn’t feel like it hydrates your skin as directly as other facial sprays. I didn’t like using it with makeup as much as the Mario Badescu Facial Spray, though it was a nice addition to my skincare routine. Overall, it takes a backseat to the Mario Badescu Facial spray, particularly given the hefty price tag.
- Evian Mineral Water Spray: This is literally water in a fancy spray bottle. Granted, it is probably nicer than any DIY water-in-a-bottle facial sprays that I could whip up, but there is no hiding the fact that there is only one ingredient, and it’s H2O. Does it qualify as a beauty product? Not in my book. Could it be great for a trip to the Grand Canyon or Disneyworld in July? That’s probably the Evian facial spray’s best use.
